Violet Red Bile Glucose Agar (VRBGA)

Usages:
For selective isolation of Enterobacter sakazakii and differentiating of enterobacteriaceae.
 
Principle:
Peptone and yeast extract powder provides carbon and nitrogen sources and trace elements; lactose are fermentable sugars; sodium chloride maintains osmotic equilibrium; the 3rd bile salts and crystal violet inhibiting gram-positive bacteria, especially against Gram positive bacteria and fecal streptococci; neutral red as pH indicator.
 
Formulation(per liter):
Pancreatic Digest of Gelatin: 7g
Yeast extract powder: 3g
Lactose: 10g
Glucose Monohydrate: 10g
Sodium chloride: 5g
The 3rd bile: 1.5g
Neutral Red :0.03g
Crystal violet: 0.002g
Agar: 15g
Final pH 7.4 ± 0.2          
 
How to use:
1.Suspend 41.5g in 1 L of distilled water , stirring heated to boiling until completely dissolved, dispensing flask, autoclave at 121 ℃ for 15min.
2.Diluted and treated samples.
