Cetrimide Agar Base

Usages:
For isolation and enumeration of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in water samples.
 
Principle:
Peptone provide nitrogen; glycerol carbon source; potassium and magnesium can promote green pus pigment production; hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide is a selective antibacterial agent, as a quaternary ammonium salt cationic detergent may bacterial cells release nitrogen and phosphorus and suppress non-Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria; agar is medium coagulant.
 
Formulation(per liter):
Pancreatic Digest of Peptone 20.0g
Magnesium Chloride     1.4g
Dipotassium Sulphate   10.0g
Cetrimide   0.3g
Agar 13.6g
Final pH 7.2 ± 0.2
 
How to use:
1.Suspend 45.3g in 1L of distilled water , stirring heated to boiling to completely dissolve ,autoclave at 121℃ for 15 minutes.
2.Diluted and treated samples.
