TCBS Agar

Usages:
For selective isolation of enteropathogenic vibrios, especially for Vibrio cholerae and Vibrio parahaemolyticus.
 
Principle:
Multivalent peptone, yeast extract powder provides carbon and nitrogen sources, vitamins and growth factors; sodium chloride can stimulate the growth of Vibrio; bromothymol blue and thymol blue are pH indicator; agar as medium coagulant.
 
Formulation(per liter):
Multivalent peptone 10g
Sodium chloride 10g
Sodium citrate 10g
Sodium thiosulfate 10g
Cholate 3g
Ox bile powder 5g
Sugar 20g
Ferric citrate 1g
Agar 15g
Bromothymol blue 0.04g
Thymol blue 0.04g
Final pH 8.6 ± 0.2
 
How to use:
1.Suspend 89g in 1L of distilled water ,heating and stirring to dissolve after boiling 1-2min, not autoclaved, cooled to 50℃, poured sterile petri dish.
2.Diluted and treated samples.
 
Storage: Keep container tightly closed, store in a cool, dry place, away from bright light. Storage period of 3 years.
