Sulfite Polymixin Sulphadiazine Agar Base ( SPS )
 
Usages:
For the isolation and enumeration of Clostridium perfringens in foodstuffs.
    
Principle:
Trypticase and yeast extract powder provides carbon and nitrogen sources, vitamins and growth factors; sodium sulfite and ammonium ferric citrate for the detection of hydrogen sulfide; agar medium as coagulant; polymyxin B and sodium sulfadiazine inhibit bacterial growth of non-Clostridium.
 
Formulation (per liter):
Trypticase 15g
Yeast extract powder 10g
Ferric ammonium citrate 1g
Agar 15g
Final pH 7.0 ± 0.2
 
Supplement: SR0150 Additive For SPS
 
Storage: Keep container tightly closed, store in a cool, dry place, away from bright light. Storage period of 3 years.
