Modified Chalmers Agar(MC Agar)

Usages:
For colony count of lactic acid bacteria in beverage.
 
Principle:
Soy peptone, beef extract powder and yeast extract powder provide nitrogen, vitamins and growth factors; glucose and lactose provide the carbon source; agar as culture based coagulant; neutral red as pH indicator.
 
Formulation(per liter):
Soy peptone 5g
Beef extract powder 5g
Yeast extract powder 5g
Glucose 20g
Lactose 20g
Calcium carbonate 10g
Agar 15g
Neutral Red 0.05g
Final pH6.0 ± 0.2
 
How to use:
1.Suspend 80g in 1 L of distilled water , stirring heated to boiling until completely dissolved, distribute into flask,autoclave at 121℃ for 15 minutes.
2.Diluted and treated samples.
 
Storage: Keep container tightly closed, store in a cool, dry place, away from bright light. Storage period of 3 years.
