Usages:
For isolation and enumeration of faecal coliform organisms.
 
Principle:
Tryptone, polypeptone and yeast extract powder to provide nitrogen, vitamins as growth factors; sodium chloride to maintain osmotic equilibrium; lactose is fermentable sugars; No. 3 bile against Gram-positive bacteria; agar medium as coagulant; Rose acid and aniline blue as a pH indicator.
 
Formulation(per liter):
Tryptone 10g
Polypeptone 5g
Yeast extract powder 3g
NaCl 5g
Lactose 12.5g
No. 3 Bile 1.5g
Agar 15g
Rose acid 0.1g
Aniline Blue 0.1g
Final pH7.4 ± 0.2
 
Storage: Keep container tightly closed, store in a cool, dry place, away from bright light. Storage period of 3 years.
