Usages:
For isolation of anaerobic Clostridium and lecithin enzyme test.
 
Principle:
Peptone and beef extract powder provides carbon and nitrogen sources, vitamins as growth factors; glucose to provide energy; sodium chloride to maintain osmotic equilibrium; agar medium as coagulant; Clostridium perfringens phospholipase having decomposed lecithin generated insoluble ester formed with a milky haze.
 
Formulation (per liter):
Beef extract powder 5g
Peptone 15g
NaCl 5g
Glucose 10g
Agar 15g
Final pH7.5 ± 0.2
 
Storage: Keep container tightly closed, store in a cool, dry place, away from bright light. Storage period of 3 years.
