The Introduction:

The Plant Water Potential Analyzer is an instrument used to determine the plant water potential (Ψ) and its components, and to extract the xylem catheter sap for component analysis. It can be used to study the water relationship of plants and the relationship between plants and the environment. Suitable for research on plant physiology, ecology, agronomy, forestry, and pasture. It is therefore one of the important instruments for teaching and scientific research to guide the rational use of water and drought breeding of crops and forests and grasses. It is easy and fast to use for indoor and outdoor field operations.

Characteristics:

  • ·         The measurement range: 0-10.00 MPa; digital display readings
  • ·         Read the precision: 0.01MPa
  • ·         The shape of the volume: 550mm × 280mm × 350mm
  • ·         The instrument net weight: 9kg

Product uses:

JN-ZLZ-3000 plant water potential analyser is used to determine the plant water potential (Ψ) and its components and pressure xylem catheter sap for the analysis of a device used. It can be used to study the water relationship of plants and the relationship between plants and the environment. Applicable to plant physiology, ecology, agronomy, forestry and pasture. It is therefore one of the important instruments for teaching and scientific research to guide the rational use of water and drought breeding of crops and forests and grasses. It is easy and fast to use for indoor and outdoor field operations.

Instrument's principle of determination of :

Plants in the soil-plant-atmosphere continuous system, the roots continuously absorb water from the soil, and the leaves continuously

lose water to the surrounding environment. In this water potential gradient system, there is a gradient of water potential in the roots, stems and leaves of the plant, making the xylem conduit.

The small water column in the middle is affected by the negative pressure of the low water potential of the air, forming a pulling force for the upward transport of water. When the plant shoots or leaves are cut, the tensioned water column in the duct breaks and the water column shrinks from the incision to the upper end. Place the cut material into

the pressure chamber of the instrument (see below for operating procedure), make one end of the cut out and seal it, pressurize it,

rebalance the tension in the shoot or blade and push the small water column back to the cut surface. All pressure is the water potential of the plant.
