Gause’s Synthetic Agar
 
Usages:
For cultivation of actinomycetes.
 
Principle:
Soluble starch provide carbon source; sodium chloride, ferrous sulfate, potassium nitrate, dipotassium hydrogen phosphate, magnesium sulfate, provide suitable ion; agar as culture medium coagulant.
 
Formulation (per liter):
Soluble starch 20g
Sodium chloride 0.5g
Ferrous sulfate 0.01g
Potassium nitrate 1g
Sipotassium hydrogen phosphate 0.5g
Magnesium sulfate 0.5g
Agar 15g
Final pH7.3 ± 0.2
 
Storage: Keep container tightly closed, store in a cool, dry place, away from bright light. Storage period of 3 years.
